TravelGreen™

TravelGreen is a program that affords your customers an opportunity to make contributions toward small amounts of clean renewable energy. Though this turn-key solution, your guests can positively impact the environment during their stay and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions for US$1.00 per night.

Participating hospitality operations receive TravelGreen Mini-Green Tags and related marketing materials. You only pay for the Mini-Green Tags you commit to selling up front. There are no additional upfront costs other than the cost of printing these materials, which is optional if you’re interested in an electronic solution.
Hoteliers also have the option to evolve toward carbon neutral by offsetting the greenhouse gas emissions associated with their operations at wholesale rates.

For more information, please call 800-276-7764, email Peter Krahenbuhl, or visit TravelGreen to download our toolkit.

Carbon Footprint Calculators

Hoteliers who are interested in offering their guests an opportunity to offset their travels to and from their facilities should consider implementing a carbon calculator on their websites, as well as integrating it into their customer communications. Sustainable Travel International offers custom web-based carbon calculators for hoteliers, as well as consumer-facing solutions, which use the latest and most accurate data to estimate your facility or guest related carbon emissions.

Carbon Management Services

Carbon Management Services help hospitality operations track their carbon emissions, while providing them with valuable information for measuring the performance of their environmental initiatives.

We offer simple, affordable carbon footprint assessments for hoteliers of all sizes that wish to become carbon neutral. By definition, carbon neutral represents the point at which carbon emissions have been identified, measured, reduced where possible and 100% of the remaining emissions have been offset through high quality renewable energy, energy efficiency and or reforestation projects.

The data that is typically collected, analyzed, and reported in a standardized format evaluates the carbon emissions from operations and contains the following information:

  • Energy use in each facility including electricity, natural gas, propane, and heating oil
  • Energy use in office facilities including electricity, natural gas, propane, and heating oil
  • Employee travel i.e., non-commuting trips including flights, train trips, and hotel stays
  • Miles driven for business, including company cars, vans, trucks, etc.
  • Employee commutes, whether by car or public transport
  • Volume of waste generated
  • Volume of recycling generated
